Degree in Fine Art, Diploma in Web Design
and 3 years in-house experience.

About

I started out back when I was about 4 years old with a keen interest in crayons, markers and an Amstrad 64. I was lucky enough to further this interest by going to Limerick School of Art and Design in 2001 and completing both a diploma and a degree in Fine Art. Here my work primarily consisted of digital art work, photography and printmaking. After a long and painful thesis and a vast portfolio of artwork and I found myself with an honors degree in Fine art.

On completion I decided to expand my interest in digital technologies and combine it with my art experience. I did this through the means of a web design course in Cork. I was ideally suited to this and after graduating began work for a web design, print and multimedia agency called 'Emagine media '. This gave me the experience, strengths and the expert knowledge I needed to further my career. My main job responsibilities involved converting designs into W3C compliant XHTML and CSS templates and building content management systems. Here i worked with a team on building over 40 websites

Two years later, I found myself in Melbourne, Australia working for 'The Le@rning Federation' who develop digital curriculum content for all Australian and New Zealand schools. My job includes User interface design and development using XHTML and CSS and Usability standards

Now im I'm good at:

  • Hand Coding: XHTML, HTML, CSS
  • Website Design
  • Interface Design
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Semantic & Valid XHTML/CSS Markup
  • Accessibility
  • Content Management systems
